Short
Mustafa Maghraby co-founded DUBZ in Dubai in 2016. As Chief Commercial Officer, he came up with the idea of checking passengers in at their doorstep and built the partnerships behind it. In 2018, dnata, part of the Emirates Group, acquired a majority stake in DUBZ. A former Egypt national water polo player, he is now co-founder of Neotrium.
Long
Mustafa Maghraby co-founded DUBZ in Dubai in 2016 with Omar Abou Faraj and Samer Sobh, resigning from his sales role at Elsewedy Electric to work on it full-time. DUBZ began as point-to-point luggage delivery; noticing that most trips ended at the airport, Mustafa came up with the idea of checking passengers in at their doorstep during a meeting with Intelak, the Emirates Group’s travel incubator. As Chief Commercial Officer, he built the partnerships behind its home and hotel check-in service. DUBZ was one of four winners of the first cohort of Intelak, the travel incubator launched by the Emirates Group, and in 2018 dnata, part of the Emirates Group, acquired a majority stake. He was with DUBZ until December 2025.
Before business, he played water polo for Egypt’s national team, competing at the 2007 FINA World Junior Water Polo Championships in California and winning gold at the 2007 Pan Arab Games in Cairo.
Mustafa speaks on entrepreneurship and the journey to acquisition, including as keynote speaker at Morison Global’s 2023 African conference in Cairo. He is co-founder of Neotrium, which connects DNA, blood biomarkers and wearable data into one personal health protocol, and is based in Dubai.
